DIY Wedding Series-The Bridal Shower

Bridal Shower Invitation

I made the bridal shower invitations using a retired Stampin' Up set.  I wanted to use an umbrella with hearts to indicate it was a bridal shower.  The final product is pictured in the top, left hand corner.  To its right, you can see that I applied tiny hearts in red ink and when the hearts are applied for a second time they look pink. I reinked an continued down the paper with the hearts.  Below that picture you see that I used a Stampin' Up punch to create a lacy border.  I cut a piece of red paper to attach behind the lace so that that the lace stands out.  I colored my umbrella with red ink  and the handle with black ink on a small piece of paper.   Then I put Stickles on top of the red ink,  it created a pink glitter effect.  I would recommend letting the Stickles dry overnight.  The next day I took the small sheet of paper with the umbrella and placed padded dots under it to raise it up off of the card to give it a 3 dimensional look.  My very last step was to stamp the invitation in black ink on the inside.

Wedding Card by Bay Moon Design

While I was in my card making mode, I decided to make a handmade card to go with the shower gift.   It is a special card with hearts and love birds for this special ocassion.  The front of the card is embossed with tiny hearts at the bottom of the gray card stock and there is a border of cut out hearts on the cream colored paper. It includes a message that reads "Happily Ever After" in a soft,  neutral gray ink on cream colored paper. Hearts border the saying. A large cream colored heart is formed with leaves that are meticulously punched out and attached to the paper. Inside of the heart are two love birds.
