Brown Pearls Earrings by BayMoonDesign |
I created these brown pearl earrings with beautiful freshwater brown coin pearls, tiny brown glass pearls and brown crystals that are meticulously wire wrapped with sterling and attached to sterling ear wires.
December Art Inspiration |
When I saw this amazing art installation which is called anamorphic, I was struck by the variety of ways that the various parts moved. I noticed how the anamorphic image is special and distinct and has it's own way to
be looked at. I also noticed that the shape of the round forms and the light brown colors against silver looking metal. I selected the round glass pearls and brown crystals to mimic the round objects in the art installation. I used sterling silver wire to copy the silver looking verticals in the art. I used a coin pearl rather than a round pearl because I wanted to add an illusion of round shape and a surprise element to the viewer of the earrings just as the installation has that element. I love how all of the glass pearls and crystals are individual pieces and have their own way of moving yet there is also a continuity to the movement just as there is in the art.
I am really looking forward to seeing what others create based on this art!
Beautiful earrings. Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteA very smokey and elegant interpretation of this months theme, perfect for wearing to dine out with someone special! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful earrings. A perfectly elegant neutral that could be worn with everything.
ReplyDeleteYou're not kidding about meticulous wire wrapping - lovely work. I enjoyed your choice of brown pearl coins and your reason for doing do. These earrings capture the movement and the visual image of the art piece so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteLove the clusters. They really work for this challenge! Terrific brown pearl color too!
ReplyDeleteI love that you addressed the wires as a part of the sculpture. I can just see those hearings, (on my ears!), dancing and moving and shining as they interact against each other. It makes me smile :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your clusters of pearls and crystals... very elegant! You must have far more patience than I do for all that wire wrapping. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are very classically elegant earrings. You cannot go wrong with pearls! They must have a wonderful movement as well. Thank you for sharing your mini kinetic sculptures for the December We're All Ears Challenge. Check back on January 2nd for the next inspiration! Enjoy the day! Erin
ReplyDeleteMore than anyone else, you captured the synchronized movement of the balls. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteI like the coin with the little clusters, very romsntic.
ReplyDeleteOh, you really did a great job of capturing the inspiration piece with your earrings. I see the two reflected in each other. Great job.
