The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain |
The City of Arts and Sciences is an impressive complex located in Valencia, Spain. I had no idea that the City of Arts and Science complex even existed until I read about it on the We're All Ears Blog. It was created as a way to honor the melding of science, technology, nature and art. These buildings were conceived and designed by renowned Spanish architects Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. I would love to see it in person.
Our challenge for this month was to figure out which building piques our interest the most and create a pair of earrings inspired by it. I selected the Ágora.

I love how the bi-cones at the bottom capture the glow of the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThese are spot on - great job!
ReplyDeleteLovely design! The dandling flower beads are so fun! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Kathy! I like how you thought about the design and the purpose of the building in your design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely interpretation, to focus on the senses rather than the architecture and come up with such a lovely earthy design. Very pretty earrings xx
ReplyDeleteVery good colour interpretations. Nice.
ReplyDeleteI love how you captured the dome, and what is really cool is that you thought of the use of the building and captured sensory representations in your design. I remember reading about the walkway containing a garden of indigenous plant life, and you addressed that idea. Isn 't it interesting how we all interpret these inspirations differently?
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! We all seemed to have pulled out different aspects from this months inspiration. You captured a visit there not only with the shapes but with the smell. Very Cool!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that building! Wow great job and beautiful too! Thanks for helping me see something I missed! It's great to look through another persons eyes.
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't know anything about this until I somehow stumbled on it! I find this complex fascinating. It is something so beautiful and so embracing of community. A must-see for sure! I love the earrings you created and the reason for each component. I imagine that this would be a wonderful place to see an outdoor concert or event and you captured that coming-together nicely! Enjoy the day! Erin
