Andrew Thornton sponsored this Last Harvest Challenge. He put together 30 kits and challenged jewelry designers to use as much or as little of the kit to create a piece that showcases creativity, individuality, and artistic expression. Ideally the creations will spotlight the great assortment of beads included in the kit. It's a celebration of the Last Harvest before the cold of winter sets in.

The Luxury Bead Blend consists of Japanese Miyuki seed beads, Toho seed beads, Japanese Matsuno seed beads, vintage Czech seed beads, freshwater pearls, glass pearls, Czech glass (both old and new), carnelian, red tiger's eye, red agate, stone, vintage sequins, vintage German plastic, dyed wood, German glass, electroplated hematite, Swarovski crystals, vintage Japanese glass, Javanese glass, and vintage lucite.
Carnelian is perfect for autumn designs. It has the warm, rich, colors of autumn. It's hard not to think of pumpkins and spice. This provided the perfect autumn color palette.
I created this long 27 inch floral necklace for those who love earthy fall colors. I selected a dark rose and cream floral ceramic focal by Suburban Girl Studio and paired it with dark rose, peach, and a neutral brown colors. For the metal, I used copper because of the peach color it has. I used green green Irish waxed linen thread to literally tie everything together along with brown sari ribbon that has a hint of some of the green and peach colors. I made a copper clasp for this one of a kind necklace. This boho necklace has an earthy and rustic appearance and reminds me of the fading colors of fall. The necklace is available for purchase HERE.
Angel wing necklace by Bay Moon Design |
I still have tons of beads left!
Love how you wove those earthy neutrals among the bold pops of orange in your floral necklace, especially with the two beads that elongate the focal. Oh, and that angel wing - your simple treatment really makes a strong statement. Love, love this one!
ReplyDeleteBoth necklaces are lovely, however, the one with the wing pendant I would wear in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteLove them both!! Very creative! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth very pretty necklaces! I love that the first one is long. I've been making mine much longer lately as well.
