PLANNING, DREAMING, HOPING and FINISHING

The Art Elements Community challenge for January 2021 is to finish some projects from last month. I like the idea of finishing up the earrings that I had planned and was hoping to have done for this past Christmas.  Since I had dreamed up a design for each and gathered all my materials together.  I happily finished 3 pairs of earrings that were starring at me on my worktable.

This first pair I intended to gift a friend who loves these red birds. Rustic red cardinal earrings make a special gift for a winter birthday. The word joy is on the earrings. I paired the rustic ceramic charms with antique brass wires and forest green crystals sandwiched between 2 spacers to add sparkle. If you love nature these earrings make a statement and can be worn all winter. As a gift these bird dangles are sure to put a smile on the face of a bird lover. The ceramic charms are made by Scottish artisan Grubbi.

My next pair of earrings are made from natural brass sheets that I embossed with a leaf pattern. I then hand painted these art earrings with green patinas and yellow patinas to create green and chartreuse dangles. They have a protective coating to keep the color vivid for years to come.

I decided that it was about time I showed off my patina work and make them into earrings. The leaves are combined with vintage green beads and chartreuse spacers. These earrings have a rustic look. I used bronze ear wires to accentuate the metal that shows through the patina.

My last pair are rustic earrings that have small deers figures on each. The distressed dangles are for the outdoor nature lover.

The deer are on ceramic charms that hang on natural brass ear wires. Natural brass and Czech beads are added to give subtle hints of yellow and brown color to the dangles. These earrings are design for someone who loves nature and the out of doors. The ceramic charms are made by Scottish artisan Grubbi.
