Art Bead Scene December Challege Offers Many Color Choices

Just as color plays a major role in Kandinsky’s Winter Landscape which is December's Art Bead Scene Challenge, colors plays an important role in the bracelet that it inspired.  In addition to the  extreme color contrasts and vertical and horizontal lines in this painting, the ceramic bar by JeraLunaDesigns  has lots of lines that can be vertical or horizonal depending on how you look at them.

Kandinsky’s Winter Landscape and Brandi Hussey's color palette

Winter Landscape has colors in it that people wouldn't normally associate with December or winter. Instead of reds and greens, or only cool shades of blue, we have a mix of soft pastels and bold hues.  Once again, I waited until Brandi Hussey gave her readers a look at the color palette she found in the painting.
This colorful sunburst bracelet has a handmade porcelain bar that sits on top of the wrist. The handmade bracelet bar is made from porcelain clay and glazed in blue, pink, amber and green by JeraLunaDesigns. I added deep purple and green beads, glass pearls, and crystals to the 2 strands that are attached to the bar with green seed beads. I also used gold beads and clasp to play on the yellow in sun on the porcelain.   The gold also adds warmth and sparkle.

This cuff bracelet reminds me of the winter sun.

  1. Miss Kathy, I truly feel that the frosty haze of a sun is in your bracelet design. I love the soft colors in this harsh landscape. Thank you for sharing your talents with us at the ABS. We look forward to taking this journey of inspiration together in 2014! Enjoy the day. Erin

  2. A beautiful piece! I should have waited for Brandi's color palette too as I never saw the lovely plum color until now.
